Biography
Sai Nethra Betgeri is a dedicated and accomplished educator and researcher with a strong academic and professional background in computer science, mathematics, and engineering. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville, Betgeri brings a wealth of experience in teaching, research, and industry collaboration to their role.
Education and Academic Background:
Betgeri holds a Ph.D. in Computational Analysis and Modeling from Louisiana Tech University, with a focus on "Risk-Based Decision Modelling for Wastewater Pipes." Their academic journey also includes a Master of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Computer Science, both from Louisiana Tech University. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women, affiliated with JNTUH.
Professional Experience:
Before joining the University of Louisville in January 2024, Betgeri worked at Louisiana Tech University in various capacities, including Research Associate, Teaching Assistant and Instructor, and Research Assistant. Their research focused on wastewater pipe assessment, risk-based decision modeling, and the application of machine learning techniques such as AHP, K-NN, and Continuous Time Markov Chain. Betgeri also served as a Data Scientist Analyst Intern at Kelly Services - Cleco, where they developed machine learning algorithms and created data visualizations using Tableau.
Earlier in their career, Betgeri worked as a Business Analyst at Capgemini Pvt. Ltd., where they contributed to projects for Northbridge Financial Corporation and CNA Insurance. In this role, they conducted requirement analysis, performed functional testing, and utilized SQL, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.

Betgeri's expertise spans programming (C, Python, R), Machine Learning Predictive Modeling, Data Visualization (Tableau, Excel), and Database Administration (SQL, RDBMS, DBMS). My work integrates software engineering principles with machine learning workflows, addressing issues of model robustness, interpretability, and deployment in safety-critical domains such as healthcare systems and infrastructure engineering.
