Cristian-Catalin Gavat is a distinguished academic and professional with dual qualifications as a Chemical Engineer and Pharmacist. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, specializing in Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis. Gavat has been a dedicated educator at the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași, Romania, since March 1, 2000, where he currently serves as a Chemistry Lecturer in the Biomedical Sciences Department, Faculty of Medical Bioengineering.

Gavat earned his B.S. in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (specializing in Textile Chemical Processing) from the “Gh. Asachi” Technical University of Iași in 1995. He later obtained a B.S. in Pharmacy from the same university in 2013, focusing on analytical methods for pharmaceuticals. His doctoral work at the “Grigore T. Popa” University centered on the analytical chemistry of reactive dyes and their biological effects.

His professional journey includes roles in the textile industry, where he worked as an engineer in quality control and chemical processing. Since 2000, Gavat has taught a range of chemistry disciplines, including Inorganic, General, Organic, and Analytical Chemistry, and was promoted to Lecturer in 2017.

Gavat’s research spans a wide range of fields, including pharmacy, analytical and bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and instrumental analysis. He has authored or co-authored 6 books, published 44 papers (including 13 ISI-indexed publications), and contributed over 1460 peer-reviews to international journals. He serves on the editorial boards of 38+ international journals and is a Premium Member of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
